Nozawa View Hotel Shimataya offers great value for money with its convenient location close to the centre and the slopes. The staff are friendly and the rooms on the higher floors offer a fantastic view. The breakfast is also a highlight, with an extensive set menu of delicious Japanese dishes.

The view from the higher floors was breathtaking and the onsen was heavenly. The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating, breakfast was decent and the location was conveniently close to the main chair lift and shuttle bus.

The hotel offers beautiful panoramic views of the town and mountains. The staff was very helpful and speaks English fluently. The location is excellent, within walking distance to the ski lift and surrounded by restaurants and shops.

The cleanliness of the room was a bit below our expectations. The carpets were stained and the futon beds and pillows were dusty.

Secondly, the staff were exceptional and went out of their way to be helpful. Lastly, the rooms on the higher floors had a fantastic view that made waking up in the morning a pleasure.

Had an incredible stay at a peaceful hotel with stunning mountain views during Thanksgiving. the extensive set menu of Japanese dishes served for dinner and breakfast was delicious and offered a variety of meat, fish and vegetables. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay, making us feel welcome. Our room offered beautiful views and a modern feeling. We also appreciated the convenience of the key location to various mountain town attractions.

The hotel was lacking a bar, which made it difficult to find a place to go out for a drink at night. the nearby town unfortunately did not offer many evening options for us either.
